an interview with a scenic artist

The interview at the link above, was done as I finished the Oscar Peterson imagery....
here I am doing the final touch ups on the keys for the windows on Elgin Steet, with the larger boards waiting for me in the background, they consisted of 10 foot by 80 feet of hoarding material...times 2....most of it done twice in case graffitti artists found it too great a temptation to resist...

Improv Award

This summer I had the priviledge to paint the installation for the Oscar Peterson bronze sculpture created by Ruth Abernethy. The corner of Elgin and Albert Streets was blocked off as the Queen and Prince Philip  unveiled it. It was a proud moment for all of us who worked on the event. And there were many who put this together.Recognition for one's part in a large important event such as this, often goes unoticed, but to my surprise I was nominated and won the Improv Award from the National Arts Centre for my contribution to this installation.
